Converter Control Application is a key area in securing Vestas' leading position within sustainable energy in the future. We develop and implement all converter applications and control functionalities for all Vestas turbine families. In the grid team, we secure compliance with various grid codes, develop grid-type test certification strategies, design how the power to the grid is overseen, and engineer grid event features such as voltage or frequency events. We cover the full value chain, from requirements and design for new turbines to validation, field support, and support for sales and service.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for overseeing the team backlog, making decisions on priorities and providing feedback to the team and relevant stakeholders

  • Facilitate estimations and planning sessions for projects and work packages

  • Maintain risk register for the functional team

  • Report on team forecast, allocation, and progress to the line manager and functional lead

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the Power Converter Industry with relevant knowledge in converter control, including business understanding through experience in the industry or domain related to our product

  • Degree or Masters in Engineering within Marine, Power or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with grid connection of converters and compliance assessment regarding connection codes

  • Previous experience with delegation, working through others, or project management (including collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals)

  • Effective communication skills (English) and the ability to convey ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Capable of prioritizing tasks based on business value, customer needs and project constraints (including flexibility and the ability to work through uncertainties in the product development process.)

  • Project management certifications (such as Scrum and Prince 2) are ideal

  • Previous experience overseeing a team or managing a project
