The department Turbine Operations Engineering (TOE) is an organization of Global Service. Within TOE, Service Lifecycle Engineering is responsible for handling and developing solutions for tasks coming from the service Engineering Change Management (ECM). Service ECM is responsible for the execution of engineering changes out of the Engineering Change Management (ECM), the creation and development of related documentation for the products/platforms, and developing projects from the ECM like developing solutions for obsolete items. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and exciting business.
Responsibilities
- Review and compare specifications like TSS, TPS, etc. for electrical components, e.g. converter, pitch, auxiliaries, PLC, etc
- Showing responsibility especially for the electrical related Problem Reports from the Engineering Change Management (ECM)
- Providing support for projects, support tasks, and ECM work, also on-site, for different WTG brands and platforms
- Developing technical solutions for obsolete electrical items, with a commercial understanding
- Facilitate the input to the roadmap for obsolete parts within the electrical area
- Creation of documentation like TSS and TPS for the developed solutions
- Sharing of knowledge and experience within the team
- Effective stakeholder management to interact with other departments within Vestas, but also with supplier and partner companies
- Providing support to the technical writers and the technical sourcing team
- Support and interact with the Service ECM team and the engineers within Turbine Operations Engineering
- Creation and review of documentation and work instructions
- Readiness to apply specialized knowledge to other colleagues, local and global
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc
- Be a contributor to the continuous improvement of our processes and tools, especially in the ECM and obsolescence handling area
Qualifications
- Electrical Education with special knowledge of various electrical components, e.g. auxiliaries, controllers, electrical pitch systems, converters, etc
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or comparable
- Several years of experience in the wind industry is appreciated
- Work-related experience for developing solutions, e.g. retrofit kits or upgrades for electrical components and panels is needed
- Practical experience in troubleshooting and working on electrical components of various turbines (5 years minimum)
- Trained on the electrical components (f.e. supplier training, controller training, OEM in-house training, etc.)
- Practical experience in service and working on electrical and mechanical components of various turbines appreciated
- Trained on the WTG components (f.e. supplier training, controller training, OEM in-house training, etc.)
- Knowledge of documentation creation (TSS, TPS, SWI, ...)
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and good follow-up skills are also expected
- Ability to handle stakeholder queries and give logical replies on service perspective
- Knowledge about EMC and testing of electrical components and panels
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Windchill, PDM Link, CAD
