The Control Units & Electronics department is a part of Vestas Technology & Operations and are responsible for the control- and safety system and all low voltage self-developed electronics (incl. VHDL and firmware) for all Vestas turbines. As Electronics Test Engineer you will join our experienced team consisting of people from Denmark and Portugal.
The Electronics team have many stakeholders in Vestas as it is part of a large value chain from technology roadmap to development work with various departments before the product lastly is matured together with sourcing and manufacturing across the world.

Responsibilities
As an Electronics Test Engineer your responsibilities and work tasks are primarily focused on testing the Electronics that are developed within the department. Thorough testing of our products is done to meet the highest level of quality to ensure best in class reliability and a very long lifetime in harsh environments onshore and offshore.

Tests are mostly done in-house and include:

• Functional testing and board bring-up
• EMC testing (Immunity and Emission testing + special lightning Immunity)
• Environmental testing (HALT, Vibration, Temperature, Humidity, Drop, Shock, Salt mist, IP)

Besides test activities your responsibilities will also include:

• Participate in the design phase and contribute to test setups, including UL compliance
• Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documentation
• Maintain the component database in our PCB design tool and validate alternative components
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, and service teams

Qualifications

• BEng or MSc in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited University
• Knowledge & Experience in: Electronics design, testing and documentation, EMC and Environmental testing and correct EMC design, Analog / digital circuits, Discrete components, Power supplies, Tools for Simulation/Schematic/PCB Layout (LTSpice and Altium Designer)

• You have great stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level. You demonstrate proficiency in addressing challenges while efficiently managing competing priorities and multiple assignments
• You are adept at managing your responsibilities and thrive when working with minimal direction. You take initiative in problem-solving, focus on achieving results, and possess a deep sense of accountability
• You are an effective communicator, capable of forging connections across different cultures and locations. You have proficient written and verbal English skills with people at all levels across the organization
