The Global People Services Payroll organization is responsible for delivering compliant, efficient, and high‑quality payroll services across all Vestas regions. Within this structure, the NCE Payroll organization oversees payroll operations across multiple Northern & Central Europe markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and positive employee experience. As Vestas continues to advance and evolve its payroll operating model, the NCE Payroll team plays a critical role in establishing standardization, operational discipline, and service excellence across one of the company's most complex and strategically important regions.
Responsibilities
As the Director of Global People Services NCE Payroll (m/f/d), you will guide continuous improvement initiatives, uphold operational excellence, and implement standardized processes across the NCE payroll landscape aligned with global payroll strategy and governance.
Further, your main responsibilities will include
- Partner closely with regional HR, Finance, Legal, and Global Payroll leadership to ensure alignment, risk mitigation, and effective issue resolution.
- Oversee vendor relationships and performance across the NCE region, ensuring service levels, accuracy, and contractual commitments are met
- Ensure effective internal controls, audit readiness, and adherence to Vestas' data privacy, security, and financial compliance standards
- Support ongoing global transformation initiatives, ensuring NCE payroll input, readiness, and adoption of future-state systems, tools, and processes
- Lead, mentor, and develop the NCE Payroll team, improving capability, engagement, and cross‑regional collaboration
- Provide regular updates to the Global Head of Payroll and other senior stakeholders, highlighting operational performance, risks, and improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading payroll operations across multi‑country European regions
- Extensive knowledge of payroll compliance, regulatory frameworks, and statutory requirements across Northern & Central Europe
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing and developing cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated vendor management skills, with experience overseeing outsourced payroll service providers (e.g. ADP)
- High level of proficiency in English

Additional information
This position will be based in either DK, Aarhus, DK, Copenhagen, DE, Hamburg or PL, Szczecin, where the team members are located. You should expect some travel activity, up to 40 days per year.
