The Blades, Procurement Department is part of the overall Vestas Global Procurement organization and is responsible for Vestas Global supplier base.

The Department is split into various commodities and this function is responsible for the Root Structural Components area globally. The Blades team is based on 25 people located in Denmark, China, India, Portugal, Germany, Brazil, and the USA.

We are responsible for developing the supply base short, medium & long term with a view to always being able to satisfy requirements (KPIs) re. safety, quality, delivery, and cost and thereby contribute actively to improve the effectiveness of the Group. Guiding and directing improvement to Total Cost of Ownership is imperative.

 

Responsibilities

As a Senior Purchaser, you will be developing and implementing the strategy within the Root Structural Components area. In addition, you will also be directing the cross-functional procurement team and the negotiations with our key suppliers. Being in Global Procurement you will play a central role in working with various internal stakeholders from Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.

  • Responsible for KPI fulfillment on own supplier portfolio with a triple-digit million EUR spend
  • Work with internal stakeholders to select the right suppliers/partners to co-develop the new product concept incorporates with the commodity & supplier strategy
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of the new product concept including industrialization & to implement for serial production at both internal and external blade factories
  • Direct and participate in Commodity Management Team(s), including participating in Strategy development
  • Direct negotiations/develop negotiation strategies
  • Support project managers to ensure production fulfillment at suppliers

 

Qualifications

We expect that you hold an M.Sc. in Engineering, M.Sc. in Economics & Business Administration, or a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration or other relevant education. In addition to that, we expect that:

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of strategic purchase experience. (Prefer background with the international company)
  • You are a skilled communicator, who is experienced in negotiating contracts on a high professional level in an industrial company.
  • You have solid skills in stakeholder management
  • You communicate in English on a proficient level.
  • Good Danish language skills are highly advantageous
  • You are an experienced IT user (Microsoft Office)

Additional information

The position is located by default at the main headquarters of Vestas in Denmark, Aarhus N, Hedeager 42. We also consider the possibility of hiring a qualified candidate in Porto, Portugal, which would require occasional traveling to our main headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.

 

There is business traveling anticipated in this role (approximately 50 days a year).
