Performance Testing is responsible for meeting the future demand for test capabilities to verify our onshore and offshore products, modules and components both at our field test sites and in our test facilities globally.

You will specifically join the team consisting of 18 highly skilled engineers and specialist working out of our headquarters in Aarhus. We service the whole Vestas organization with our specialized knowledge and extensive capabilities within the areas of Structural Loads, Power Performance, Grid Compliance, Noise & Vibration testing.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

We are looking for a forward-thinking technical leader to guide data acquisition efforts within VTO's performance-testing environment. In this role, you will define the strategic direction for our data acquisition capabilities, guide the development of core technologies and platforms, and ensure we are equipped to meet both current and future measurement needs. Working closely with engineering, testing, and product stakeholders, you will help deliver high‑quality solutions that improve our competitiveness and support VTO's long‑term objectives.

 

  • Own and evolve the data acquisition strategy across all performance‑testing disciplines, ensuring alignment with VTO's long‑term technical and business objectives
  • Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for data acquisition, including identifying future capability needs, prioritizing initiatives, and securing required investments
  • Oversee development work and support on-time, high-quality execution in line with strategic goals and project needs
  • Oversee ongoing improvement initiatives to refine tools, processes, and guidelines, boosting standardization, reliability, and overall efficiency
  • Provide technical guidance on data acquisition technologies and methods across VTO while promoting cross-functional alignment
  • Serve as the technical lead for our DAQ software platform, ensuring architectural integrity, software quality, and a good match to measurement and test requirements

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience working with data acquisition systems, industrial measurement setups or performance testing environments
  • Demonstrated experience in technical roadmap ownership, technology development, or capability-building roles
  • Deep understanding of sensor technologies, hardware/software interfaces, and data quality assurance
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical initiatives and enhancing tools, processes, or methodologies
  • Experience in the wind industry, renewable energy, or other heavy industrial/mission-critical engineering domains
  • Background in system architecture, embedded systems, or industrial data engineering
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, technology suppliers, or investment planning

 

 

Competencies

 

  • Ability to guide the architecture, design decisions, and overall technical direction of our LabView based DAQ platform, ensuring software quality, scalability and maintainability
  • Solid understanding of sensors, signal processing, synchronization, hardware/software interfaces and data integrity
  • Ability to connect DAQ strategy, software platform design and test requirements into a coherent long‑term capability vision
  • Skilled at working with measurement engineers, test specialists, project leaders and leadership to ensure alignment of strategy and software capabilities
  • Capacity to turn user requirements into features, prioritize the backlog, balance short-term delivery with long-term architecture, and support ongoing improvement
  • Able to clearly articulate technical topics, facilitate decision-making and ensure common understanding across diverse technical domains
  • Improves tools, processes, coding standards and ways of working, ensuring robust and reliable data acquisition capabilities
