In the Plant Innovation department, innovative ideas within wind power plants are transformed into concepts that form the foundation for Vestas to maintain its leadership in innovation. You will get the opportunity to be involved in a vast number of different programming tasks and development of applications for simulations, data processing, analysis, and wind turbine, wind power plant and energy solution optimization.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Propose and conduct innovative ideas within wind farm control, and wind power simulation
  • Develop and perform feasibility studies and technical assessments of new technologies supporting control and performance improvements in wind and hybrid power plants
  • Develop and apply AI/ML solutions, including use of AI agents, to support analysis, optimization, and decision support use cases
  • Design, build, and test prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions through direct programming, simulation, and experimental development
  • Execute and coordinate activities within a specific project, including documentation

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master's degree (or PhD) in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Energy Systems, Control Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Solid experience with wind farm/hybrid plant control, wind power simulation, or power plant modeling
  • Solid hands on experience in applied AI/ML development, AI based approaches for analysis, optimization, orchestration, or decision support applications
  • Demonstrated 5+ years of experience working with large-scale operational or industrial datasets, such as time series or SCADA-style data, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and performance evaluation
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and MATLAB, C/C++, including use of ML frameworks, data pipelines, and simulation environments
