In the Plant Innovation department, innovative ideas are transformed into concepts that lay the foundation for Vestas to maintain its leadership in the industry. You will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of programming tasks and develop applications for simulations, data processing, analysis, and the optimization of wind turbines, wind power plants, and energy solutions. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Propose and conduct new innovative ideas within supervision and control strategies 
  • Perform feasibility studies of new technologies aiming at optimizing the performance of products in the plant and Energy System 
  • Development of supervision, performance optimization algorithms 
  • Development of infrastructure and backends for applications 
  • Implement and coordinate activities within a specific project, including documentation 
  • Effectively communicate and support high-paced cross-functional and cross-cultural teams 

 

Qualifications 

  • MSc. or PhD. within Software Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of working experience within wind energy engineering or similar field 
  • Design and implement control functionalities for power plant control using model-based design 
  • Advanced proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and PSCAD software tools 
  • Experience with software development within an agile development environment 

 

Competencies 

  • Enthusiastic and creative approach to bringing new ideas and opportunities 
  • Experience with innovation and new technology development 
  • As a collaborator, it comes naturally to you to share knowledge and support your team 
  • Independent, result-oriented and have a good sense of responsibility 
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken)
