Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Configuration Management, as part of Quality Improvements and Processes.
Our team works across sales, product development, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and services. We are a global team of consultants, NPI engineers, Configuration Specialists etc.

 

Responsibilities
As part of project core team, our department is represented from the early stages in new product development projects and throughout the product life cycle. You will be responsible for handling the configurations within a module. 
In addition, you will guide the business improvement program for continuous improvement and development of capabilities within CLM, in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.
As a configuration manager you will:

  • Handle product and sales configuration
  • Provide and maintain overview of product configuration - Product Family Master Plan (PFMP)
  • Be accountable for Configuration Modules, their characteristics and configuration rules across context
  • Ensure timely release of Configuration Modules toward the sales organization, Supply chain planning & manufacturing
  • Accountable for the Upper- & module-level BoM
  • Be responsible for the Engineering Change Management portfolio within Product Sales Configuration & timely implementation of new releases
  • Support the further development of CLM business improvement roadmap, program plans, business cases, and realization strategies to implement upon defined strategies 

 

Qualifications
As an ideal candidate you are expected to have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent, combined with experience in handling product configuration & variants
  • More than 5-7 years' proven relevant experience and your current/recent position could be within technology development or project management 
  • In-depth understanding of modularization techniques and principles
  • Good foundation on overall Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or directly related disciplines
  • Have a holistic understanding of project management, maybe from the wind turbine industry or similar
  • Significant basic knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP systems
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization

  • You are committed and flexible with the ability to decide and implement with limited to no supervision
  • You have project management skills, Customer focus, action-oriented, Team-player, Global mindset
  • You know how to coordinate with stakeholders efficiently by building and maintaining relations
