Vestas Procurement is the business unit in Vestas responsible for all procurement activities. Within a matrix organization, with global and regional roles, Global Procurement ensures the deployment of common strategy and processes with the same overall objectives across all Vestas regions. Customer Project Execution (CPX) and Global CPX, Logistics and Indirect Procurement (CLIP) are the departments within Vestas that collaborate and are responsible for purchasing and subcontracting activities required for Cranes, BOP, civil and electrical works, mechanical assembly etc. and also for offshore Vessel, Aviation & Ports (VAP). Procurement VAP is the team within CLIP that are responsible for Offshore VAP procurement activities for offshore wind project during construction and service.

 

Responsibilities

In this position as Marine Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement activities for jack-up vessels. The responsibilities include:

  • You will develop and maintain the commodity strategy for turbine installation and service jack-up vessel.
  • Manage sourcing and tender activities for Jack-up vessels
  • In collaboration with the negotiation team (Offshore VAP, legal and internal stakeholders) develop the Sourcing Strategy and prepare RFI/RFQ documents for tenders
  • Together with the negotiation team you will conduct the contract negotiation
  • You will guide the commercial and contractual evaluation of incoming bids and take part in clarification meetings with bidder
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, steer supplier engagement and business review meetings with suppliers in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Follow suppliers in the relevant vessel markets for wind turbines and provide market intelligence, commodity analysis and trends to internal stakeholders and management

 

Qualifications

  • We prefer a relevant academic maritime degree (or equivalent) and experience from a similar position
  • Extensive experience of negotiating marine contracts, such as Bimco Supplytime and ASVTIME charter parties in the wind or oil & gas industry, we prefer JU-Vessel’s experience
  • Considerable experience with vessel chartering (preferably with jack-ups) within the wind or oil & gas industry
  • We prefer operational knowledge from the offshore industry, a commercial mindset and contractual background
  • Demonstrated ability to handle commodity management effectively in evolving and complex global business environments
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Additional information

Location: DK, Aarhus or Copenhagen

Expected travel up to 50 days annually.
