Director HR, Head of Values, Inclusion & Wellbeing

The function reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Talent Management.
 
In this role you will interact with global key stakeholders across functions, especially the Global Talent Management  team, global and regional HR functions, Marketing and Communications, Sustainability, and business leaders. This is a new role in a newly established team; you will have 3 direct reports. 


Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated specialists to bring real enablement of inclusion to our global business
  • Ensure your team’s activities are driving the Vestas strategy and communicated goals Vestas has for building the safest most inclusive and socially responsible workplace in the energy industry
  • Ensure whilst a group-based team all activities are globally designed and scalable for local activation. 
  • Develop global and local Values, Inclusion, and Wellbeing (VIW) toolkits/service packages accessible to Vestas globally 
  • Ensure collaboration with and continuous engagement with stakeholders across the business to understand employee needs and provide evolvingly relevant user-centric solutions 
  • Represent Vestas at relevant industry events, e.g. D&I networks and universities to advocate and promote Vestas as an inclusive workplace and drive activities to deliver Talent & Leadership Must-Win global priorities and targets
  • Build an external support network of global D&I and wellbeing membership, service providers, and VIW learning and development opportunities for regional delivery of global designs 
  • Close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure Values, Inclusion, and Wellbeing are continually embedded across the end-to-end employee value chain


Qualifications
You have deep personal understanding of and passion for diversity and inclusion, with both a strong theoretical toolkit and proven experience in translating this knowledge in the business content. Having worked  as a consultant and/or user-researcher you know how to discover subject needs in the business, facilitate workshops, survey design, and interviews that will firstly lead to deep insights about employees experiences, and secondly result in the creation of targeted initiatives to fulfill user needs in line with the Vestas strategy. More specifically, you possess the following qualifications:

 

  • You are comfortable presenting virtually and in-person to represent Vestas’ Values, Inclusion and Well-Being strategy and ongoing People & Culture activities to both internal and external stakeholders
  • 10+ years relevant experience in global businesses ideally having worked in more than one country
  • Experience working in and with different cultures in a global matrix organisation
  • People manager experience and the ability to deliver results while developing your team with exemplary Values based behaviours
  • A solid theoretical toolbox within Inclusion, Diversity and Wellbeing, and a proven history of leveraging this knowledge into business-centric solutions
  • Excellent consulting and enquiry skills and a strong ability to link your work to strategic imperatives 
  • Experience of handling and influencing a broad range of stakeholders across organisational levels and functions
  • Proven experience in using data (qualitative and quantitative) to make strategic decisions to drive change; if the data does not exist, you are able to create it based on user-input
  • The ability to design, promote, and communicate initiatives internally and externally 
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written), comfortable with public speaking 
  • The ability to translate complex data into simplified messages and solutions

  • Energy, good judgment skills, and perseverance to deliver including under tight deadlines
  • Deep interest and commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and Vestas values to enable employees to reach their full potentials and thrive at Vestas 
  • Ability and desire to build relations across the business
  • The passion to champion diversity & inclusion to deliver on our strategic goals to ensure a broad and qualified talent pool, and to move the needle on D&I measured by multiple business KPIs

Additional information
The work location will be in Denmark. Extensive travelling should be expected when possible.
