Test and Verification department within Vestas Wind Systems A/S plays an important role towards verification of new prototype components and systems. To optimize testing, we bring field conditions into our test center to stress turbine components and systems to functional, performance and reliability testing. 
Our facilities are world class within testing of turbine and its components and systems, it includes more than 10 test rigs with the capability to test components or systems as part of the turbine up to 25MW. 
You will be joining a very homogenous department that consist of 35 engineers and turbine technicians with a high focus on quality and delivering test data.

Responsibilities

  •  Guide the SW/HW integration and automation of test rigs within turbine module test & verification towards the test rig interfaces.
  • You will ensure an effective and cross functional role in collaboration with our internal stakeholders and externals to ensure continuous alignment both on the operational and the strategical goals and mindset
  •  Coordinate new business improvements within the area such as system modelling of our test rigs and systems.
  • Improve requirements and standardization of test rig sequencer, HMI user interface and communication platforms 

 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor or master’s degree in automation engineering software & hardware or similar
  •  Experience with turbine systems
  • Experience combining practical and theoretical solutions
  • Experience in complex Automation (SW/HW) systems and the integration between applications of SW/HW systems
  •  Knowledge within System Engineering and System Engineering Modelling
  • Must have an understanding for the different fieldbus systems and network protocols which is used in the industry today.

Understanding of following programs and how links can be established with best practice:

  • Software: C, C++, C#, Python
  • Hardware: PLC (STL, IL, GBD)

 

Competencies

  •  Must have a natural interest in wind energy sector with focus on quality, verification, and validation
  •  Must have the capability to address the integration within automation (SW/HW) of the turbine components and how to integrate into the test rig.
  • Structured, professional, communicative, self-motivated
  • You are enthusiastic and able to handle a hard-working environment with several tasks at the same time. 
  •  Good communicator with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders 
  • Fluent in English, verbally and written
