The regional installation department ensures the delivery of construction and installation of new wind farms on an operational level by required resources, with acceptable levels of quality, costs, time, and safety following process, procedures, guidelines, and tools.

Providing technical support to projects on matters related to construction efficiency and installation of equipment, components, and systems so as to optimize project plans, developing constructability reviews, validating installation and assembly, and supervising contractors.

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the LATAM VP of Construction, this role is integral to the organisational costing and resources management throughout the region.

  • Co-ordinating contractors/sub-contractors towards adhering to the schedule to deliver the expected result by implementing defined installation specific processes.
  • Directing, controlling, and inspecting but also takes responsibility to direct, administer, guide, consult, and support the team to deliver what is planned/scheduled daily.
  • Taking safety and quality as the forerunner of delivering the expected result.
  • Monitoring, tracking and continuously improve site performance.
  • Reviewing construction sequence and project plans to ensure alignment with construction strategies and methods.
  • Evaluating technical deviations from design specifications to warrant change-out or major overhaul of equipment, components, and systems.

  • Leading demonstration and acceptance of pre-checked systems for hand over to commissioning and operations

  • Verifying anticipated improvements in plant safety, reliability, and availability, following the application of enhanced special scheme of inspections 

  • Ensuring compliance with required work permits and approvals based on regulatory and legislative prerequisites.

  • Applying site surveying and measurement techniques for engineering works control and map interpretation

  • Providing engineering support for construction of shallow and deep foundations by investigating properties of soils, shear strength, and earth pressure

  • Following the compliance and safety standards for civil and structural engineering activities to ensure adherence to safety regulations and mitigation of hazards associated with civil and structural engineering activities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree with combination of relevant experience and education. Master’s degree in project management is desirable.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within area of expertise

  • Must have a previous experience with supervising EPC projects, preferably in the energy industry.

  • Fluent in English verbal and writing

  • Possessing technical understanding to deal with the many specialists brought in to accomplish the project's or site's goals and the ability to train subordinates in their tasks.
