As a traveling technician at Vestas, you get a job out of the ordinary in an industry that is about to take Norway by storm. You will be one of our most important resources and be responsible for service and maintenance of our wind farms.

The Norwegian service department with headquarters in Trondheim is responsible for service and maintenance of all Vestas' wind farms in Norway. The department has an open and informal culture where teamwork and good communication are the key to our achievement.

 

Responsibilities
We are looking for service technicians who will be part of a service team responsible for service and maintenance of our wind turbines in the areas: Trondheim

Your responsibility will primarily be:

  • Take ownership of the wind farm
  • Preventive replacement of wear parts on wind turbines - mechanical as well as electrical
  • Troubleshooting and error correction of wind turbines
  • Annual service at the park's wind turbines
  • Work to achieve the least possible down-time

 

Qualifications
We want you to have:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Diploma
  • Several years of experience in service and maintenance, potentially with Mechanical background
  • Driver's license at B
  • Good Norwegian and English skills, oral and written
  • Skills with PC as a tool

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Good at working separately, and in teams with good communication skills, as there is a lot of interaction with stakeholders that take place at a distance
  • Solution-oriented with a positive attitude
  • High focus on safety
  • Good physical shape, not afraid to work at a height
  • Ready for travel

Additional information
In the first period of 6 months, there will be intensive training and education on our wind turbines. During this period, you must expect a shift of 2-3 weeks training, 1 week off. After training, you will transfer to a rotation scheme of 2 weeks work, 2 weeks off. (16/12 schedule)
As most departures will be by plane, we want you to live within an hour's distance from a international airport either in Norway or Denmark. The position requires that you are in good physical shape and that you can pass a medical health test in Denmark / Norway.
