Transactional Sales department proactively support Account Managers and Customer Service Managers with quoting and order processing for transactional sales of parts and less complex time and materials quotes.  

They ensure customer satisfaction by being the first point of contact for daily operational matters concerning transactional sales and tailor to meet the customer requirements.

 

As sales professionals, they coordinate activities between Services Sales, Customer Service Management (CSM), Supply Chain, Service Operations and other departments.

 

Vestas Transactional Sales work together with Service Sales Managers in a collaborative, knowledgeable team in Melbourne HQ. The successful candidate will learn why and how Vestas wind turbines work as well as how they are operated, maintained and improved over time using the extensive knowledge and experience of hundreds of Service operations team members.

 

You will gain strong financial acumen to be able to create sound commercial proposals that bring value to the customer. You will develop your B2B sales skills while being able to use financial and information systems skills that you have acquired in a learning environment with supportive colleagues.

 

Responsibilities

Together with the Account Manager, Customer Service Manager (CSM) or Product Manager the Transactional Sales Professional will:
Process customer requests (30%). 

  • Clarify customer requirements. 
  • Identify spare parts & service products through internal catalogues and documents 
  • Raise and track internal support requests to the Technical Support functions.
  • Check availability of parts and resources.

Create quotes and performing follow-ups (25%)

  • Compile service scope, sales price, freight cost and other terms & conditions
  • Maintain opportunity record in the Salesforce CRM system and other databases
  • Perform follow-ups with customers together with the Account Manager/CSM

Process orders (25 %)

  • Coordinate, track and document order fulfillment/execution 

Issue invoice requests (15%)

  • Create invoice requests according to agreements
  • Track revenue for weekly/monthly forecast

Master data maintenance (5%)

  • Ensure customer data is up to date
  • Raise change request to Master Data team

 

Qualifications

  • Commercial or technical educational background 
  • Good general technical understanding
