Vestas Australia are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Sales Manager to join our Commercial Sales team.

The Sales Team for Australia and New Zealand is responsible for all sales related activities from early engagement with customers, developing our value proposition and ultimately negotiation of new contracts for wind farms.

Responsibilities

  • Build Vestas' relationship with customers, develop solutions to meet their needs and ensure customer satisfaction 
  • Lead the sales process throughout the bidding process, ensuring timely passage through the stages of the sales process 
  • Coordinate tenders and negotiations - supporting the team to close on contracts within targets for revenue and margins 
  • Lead the extended sales team consisting of core internal functions 
  • Develop bid, negotiation and commercial strategies with consultation with Sales leadership 
  • Handle the commercial contract negotiations 
  • Coordinate a deal team in Value Engineering efforts, including analysts, engineers, construction, and other subject matter experts to create valuable solutions for Vestas and our customers. 
  • Coordinate a cross-functional team from different departments working on a project and assisting with continual improvement of sales processes

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, law, or finance 
  • 7+ years of commercial or project management experience, ideally within wind energy, power plants, infrastructure, or the construction industry

 

Competencies

  • Experience with commercial negotiations  
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of complex products and will be required to translate this knowledge into a contractual context. 
  • Experience with long-term sales processes and will be required to deliver results in a complex organisation selling large-scale projects 
  • Business insight, strategic capabilities with commercial understanding and deal-making capabilities 
  • Excellent collaborator - willing to learn and develop, attain high integrity and credibility 
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. 
  • Interested in working across cultures and fostering a supportive team environment 
  • Passion for renewable energy and the energy transition
