You will be part of a key organization within Vestas by joining our Power System Integration area. In Power System Integration we span across being in very close interaction with the market as well as being involved in various innovation activities with external collaborators while focusing on product development as our main goal. The core outputs within Power System Integration are the design of the electrical infrastructure of Vestas renewable power plants, the Vestas Power Plant Controller, and Electrical Simulation Models of wind turbines, power plant controller, and renewable power plants, utilizing the department's core competencies within Power System, Control and Software Engineering. Electrical Models is a department within Power System Integration that focuses mainly on the design of Electrical Simulation Models of Vestas' Wind Turbines and Power Plant Controllers.


Responsibilities
As a Power System Engineer in Electrical Models, you will be part of a global team and your main responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Ensure the highest possible performance and quality of electrical simulation models of our wind turbines and plant controllers, through development, testing, and validation
  • Review and ensure engineering designs together with specialists in the team
  • Ensure that our electrical simulation models can be certified worldwide by working closely with your colleagues in Porto and Denmark with inputs from Vestas technical sales engineers and TSOs globally
  • Engineering activities in optimizing the electrical simulation model development and validation processes
     

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or similar
  • Knowledge in Power System steady state analysis (load flow, short-circuit), time domain and frequency domain modeling and stability/transient analysis
  • Basic software and programming skills (C, C++, Python, Git, etc.)
  • Know at least one of the different power system simulation tools (Simulink, PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD)
