Manufacturing and Global Procurement > COO NCE > Direct Procurement
Vestas Procurement department is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross-functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-to-end cost-out initiatives, category strategy development, and supplier relationship management. 
This position is a special opening - with high attention from senior management. As responsible for the Tower Manufacturing commodity in the NCE region (North and Central Europe), you will play a crucial role in shaping our offshore/onshore tower supply chain in the region, enabling us to deliver reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable solutions to our customers.
This position is part of the Towers & Steel Procurement team. This team, with members spread across all continents, is commercially responsible for Vesta's global network of external tower manufacturing plants and the related procurement of all raw materials required for these.

 

Responsibilities 
You will join a high-profile position with broad strategic exposure within Vestas. Your everyday activities will be characterized by a very high tempo and requirement to engage in, manage, and prioritize between multiple critical projects. Overall expected scope of work and deliverables include: 

  • Supplier Account Manager for some of the most strategic tower manufacturers in the NCE region
  • Lead contract and prices negotiations with your suppliers in adherence to the corporate processes and standards, aiming at fulfilling all costs, delivery, quality, and sustainability targets to gain competitive advantages for Vestas
  • Define, Align and Implement the Tower Manufacturing commodity strategy in NCE (Offshore/Onshore) with a holistic view and ensure that an effective matrix organization can meet current and future business needs in alignment with Global Procurement and deliver required inputs into Vestas’ processes and key projects, e.g. new product introduction, modularization, alternative tower concepts, new supplier introduction etc
  • Build a close relationship with the key suppliers in the category and continue delivering value through best-in-class supplier account management
  • Ensure advanced Sourcing techniques with an end-to-end perspective of the value chain applied to Towers and support both top-and bottom-line growth and build supply market intelligence to inform and advise the team and management about important trends in the tower market and exploit these for the benefits of the Vesta's business
  • Build a strong network within Vestas, including close engagement in the Tower module with colleagues from Technology, Operations, Finance, and Quality, enabling you to influence, collaborate and partner with business leaders to drive results for Vestas
  • Further, provide pro-active stakeholder management, including executive management level stakeholders and actively engage in the Towers & Steel team, driving for excellence with your colleagues across the globe

 

Qualifications 
As a Purchasing Manager, you are expected to be a great example in following procedures but also to challenge the organization in our ways of working seeking continuous improvement. The right candidate for this role will have/be:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with strategic procurement, combined with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, or alike
  • Extensive track record of commodity management and sourcing strategy development in an industrial and international environment.  Experience in the tower or heavy structure industry is a plus
  • Efficient stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders on all levels of seniority
  • Good written, verbal, and listening skills, to communicate - negotiate - influence effectively, as well as to advise executive management level
  • Advanced skills in Powerpoint and Excel required
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Fluency in German is a plus
  • Experience working across different cultures and regions
