Manufacturing and Global Procurement > Global Supply Chain and Transport > S&OP

The Strategic Sales and Operations Management Department is responsible for aligning the Sales and Operations functions within Vestas to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency. It involves Global as well as Regional cross-functional collaboration between the Key functions of Sales, Operations, and Finance in order to develop comprehensive plans that integrate Sales forecasts with Operations Capabilities. Our Primary goal is to ensure that the organization can meet customer demands while optimizing resources and reducing cost and working capital exposure.

The Executive S&OP Specialist will have an important part in ensuring alignment between sales, operations, finance, and other key departments within the organization. The primary focus will be on developing and executing robust Sales and Operations Planning scenarios and processes to optimize resource utilization, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure overall business performance.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Strategies and Processes to optimize inventory levels, Enabling Customer demand fulfillment, production capacity and investments, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, production, procurement, and finance teams to gather relevant data and insights for demand and supply forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Lead cross-functional S&OP meetings to review performance metrics, discuss demand forecast development, identify potential risks and opportunities, and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain efficiency
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer demand patterns to develop accurate demand forecasts and production plans
  • Work closely with the finance team to align sales forecasts with financial projections, budgets, and profitability targets
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales forecasting accuracy, inventory turns, customer service levels, production efficiency, cost, and investment depreciation and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to streamline S&OP processes, enhance forecasting accuracy, and improve overall business agility, and provide regular updates and reports to global and regional senior management on S&OP performance, key insights, and recommendations for improvement


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Sales, or a related field
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in Sales and Operations Planning, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain or Procurement
  • Experience with demand forecasting and inventory management in an International environment is a benefit
  • Experience from a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment is a benefit
  • Demonstrated direct or indirect leadership abilities with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvements
  • Proficiency in S&OP software tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle ASCP, Kinaxis RapidResponse).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

 

Competencies 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and forecasting techniques
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
  • Proficiency in advanced excel (Macros, Functions and Power Query etc.) and familiarity with SAP Analysis for excel
  • Fundamental knowledge of SAP Analytics cloud (SAC) and other visualization tools such as PowerBI/Tableau is desirable
