Converter Control Application is a key area in securing Vestas leading position within sustainable energy in the future. We develop and implement all converter control functionalities for all Vestas turbine families. The department is characterized by very skilled employees who consistently aim to balance creativity with quality. Through our core knowledge, we provide best-in-class converter solutions that meet system, product, and grid requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Converter Control development team, which lays out converter requirements, owns converter control design and performs control software development, testing, and verification

  • Be part of the Converter Control Grid team as a Lead Engineer

  • Support the technical sales, grid integration, and service functions in Vestas

  • Build up guidelines supporting the above functions and teams

  • Resolve field issues using a systemic root cause analysis approach

  • Oversee line of sight of task backlog and keep relevant stakeholders up to date

  • Improve automation of tests and evaluation

  • Responsible for guiding and coaching less experienced engineers, leading the team to deliver high-quality solutions

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the Power Converter Industry with relevant knowledge in converter grid side control

  • Master or PhD in Engineering within Electronics, Control or Power Electronics

  • Master time, DQ0, Sequence, and Phaser domains for 3-phase power systems

  • Versatile by nature, being fast gaining new knowledge and putting it to use

  • Systemic and excels at troubleshooting

  • Skilled in simulation environments such as Matlab, Simulink, PLECS, or PSCAD
